Melinda began her career at an early age and has perfected her craft performing a wide range of genres including blues, rock, cabaret, jazz and country.
Mel won Best Female Vocalist and Overall Best Vocalist at the Mount Gambier Country Music Festival. She performed as a soloist at the Mount Gambier 2000 Olympic Torch Ceremony to a crowd of over 8,000. Melinda and her blues band ‘Blind Henry’ had a dedicated following in South Australia and Victoria in the nineties and released a successful album, ‘Talking Braille’ recorded at the ‘Woodstock’ studios of Joe Camilleri. Melinda has also fronted the dynamic South Australian cabaret band ‘No Alibi’, Gold Coast 3 piece 'Perfect Fit' and covered June Carter in 'Cashville' the sensational Johnny Cash-June Carter tribute show. More recently she has been the vocal dynamo at the front of her five piece band 'Microphone Blonde' and now, together with Gerri and Pete, is dedicating her time and talents to 'The Ladybirds'.
