Gerri



"Gerri was born to perform"



Gerri’s talents for singing, dancing and modelling were realised at an early age, as a member of the Johnny Young Talent School. From this came a series of performances for the Adelaide Crows, the South Adelaide Football Club and the Clipsal Giants Baseball Club. In 2000 Gerri teamed up to establish 'Lovarama', a groovy duo who wrote and recorded original songs. Two songs from their self-titled CD were recognised and promted by Molly Meldrum on his web site, describing 'Lovarama' as "an up-and-coming new talent". In 2002 Gerri formed the 'Cover Girls' playing in venues on the Gold Coast and Brisbane and won the part of Agnetha in the Abba Tribute Show, a wonderful experience that allowed her to travel and perform around Australia. Gerri and her Abba Duo partner then created a funky girl duo 'Blu Crush' performing in local, National and International venues. Gerri’s passion for performance, song and dance also inspired her to create a sensational educational show for kids entitled 'Kiss the Frog'.



Melinda

An exceptional talent with captivating charisma.

Melinda began her career at an early age and has perfected her craft performing a wide range of genres including blues, rock, cabaret, jazz and country.

Mel won Best Female Vocalist and Overall Best Vocalist at the Mount Gambier Country Music Festival. She performed as a soloist at the Mount Gambier 2000 Olympic Torch Ceremony to a crowd of over 8,000. Melinda and her blues band ‘Blind Henry’ had a dedicated following in South Australia and Victoria in the nineties and released a successful album, ‘Talking Braille’ recorded at the ‘Woodstock’ studios of Joe Camilleri. Melinda has also fronted the dynamic South Australian cabaret band ‘No Alibi’, Gold Coast 3 piece 'Perfect Fit' and covered June Carter in 'Cashville' the sensational Johnny Cash-June Carter tribute show. More recently she has been the vocal dynamo at the front of her five piece band 'Microphone Blonde' and now, together with Gerri and Pete, is dedicating her time and talents to 'The Ladybirds'.



Peter



"We love what Pete brings to the Ladybirds"



The 'Ladybirds' repertoire allows Peter to cover some classic, crowd favorite sax solos and add texture, drama and third voice harmonies to songs that don’t always have saxophone in the original versions.


Peter's musical history includes playing in Country Rock, Soul and Reggae bands and he has a long standing musical history with Melinda, playing in two of her previous bands.


Peter plays to support and enhance Gerri and Melinda’s beautiful vocal harmonies, adding authenticity and a unique musical quality to the 'The Ladybirds’ classic set list.
